  4. What is Hash Codes (TxID) in Blockchain Transactions?
*
Trading is risky. Your capital is at risk.

When you send or receive cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin or Ethereum, the transaction gets a unique code called a "hashcode" or "transaction hash." It's like a tracking number for a package you send through the mail. This code is a long string of letters and numbers, and no two transactions have the same hashcode.

Understanding Hash Codes: What They Look Like

A hash code (or hash) typically looks like a long string of letters and numbers, generated by a hash function.

For a Bitcoin transaction:

  • '9f6c3b8d30ba2f949e5c5a9e4c4ee9e4c4d0a6f1e4f9b9d9e8c000b9a2c4d6f1'

For an Ethereum transaction:

  • '0x4e9e5c1e4d7f9d8e2a3b4c5d6e7f8g9h0i1j2k3l4m5n6o7p8q9r0s1t2u3v4w5x'

It's important to note that the hash is generated through a cryptographic process that takes the details of the transaction (like the amount of cryptocurrency being transferred, the sender's and receiver's addresses, and the timestamp) and produces a unique output that can't be reversed. This means you can't derive the original transaction details from the hash alone, but you can use the hash to look up the transaction details on the blockchain.

How to Locate the Hashcode for Deposits and Withdrawals

Deposits

When you deposit to Alpari via an exchange or crypto wallet, you can view the transaction hashcode (TxID) in the transaction history of your deposit source. This code can be used to locate the transaction in case your deposit is taking longer than expected.

Withdrawals

Every withdrawal will be assigned with unique hashcode. In case the withdrawal is delayed, you can contact our Customer Support through the "Contact Us" form and request a hash code to help you locate your funds with the provider. To get the code, please provide your withdrawal transaction ID. To know where you can get it, please check this article on

Please note that the hashcode is not available directly through the Alpari Profile but it can be provided for you in case of a delay by Alpari Customer Support.
